Keep liquids and solids separate.

NEVER put ANY liquid or urine in “solids” chamber.
ONLY urine and liquids in the forward “urine” hole.
Sit farther back when using toilet: men, women and ESPECIALLY CHILDREN. Direct urine toward urine hole.
Check that privacy flap opens when seated.
Use toilet paper and physically open flaps if stuck.
Toilet paper goes in large “solids” chamber.

NEVER LIGHT OR EXTINGUISH STOVE UNLESS IT IS COMPLETELY SUBMERGED IN WATER.
(THE ALUMINUM WILL BURN THROUGH.)
Wash out tub, plug drain, and fill completely to the top with hose.
Make sure stove is COMPLETELY SUBMERGED.
Load stove with 2 logs then lots of newspaper, fire starter, kindling and a couple more logs.
Put lid on stove, leaving it 2 inches open (for air intake). Place cover over tub to insulate.
Light the fire and keep feeding it every 15-20 minutes.
Swirl water with paddle for faster heating.
When tub temperature is close to what you want, stop adding wood.

Drain tub, replace cover and stove lid.

Tighten black drain plug on back of stove.
DO NOT LIGHT STOVE UNTIL TUB IS FILLED TO THE TOP. (The stove will warp and break if there is no water cycling through or it.)
DO NOT DRAIN STOVE UNTIL FIRE IS OUT.
Turn on faucet and wash out tub. (Use hose to spray down if needed.)
Close drain valve and fill tub to the top.
Build fire in Chofu stove with only paper and kindling. (12 pieces of small 1x1 inch kindling.)
Wait fifteen minutes and fill stove with 2x2 inch pieces of wood.
Continue feeding fire with thin pieces until temp is 10 degrees cooler than what you want.
Stove will continue to heat the tub for 30 minutes and heat 10-15 degrees as the coals burn down.
DO NOT DRAIN STOVE UNTIL FIRE IS COMPLETELY OUT.
** Loosen black drain plug on back of stove to drain when finished.
