“The art of forest bathing is the art of connecting with nature through our senses. All we have to do is accept the invitation.”

Relax and renew

Follow a short trail from the driveway to a traditional Finnish wet sauna set in the woods inside a 10-foot shipping container. Two tiers of cedar slat benches offer varying levels of heat and steam. Toss water on the Finnish Harvey Legend sauna stove for a quick burst of heat or bath in the shower stall in the corner. A hundred yards down the hill as a small wading pool in the stream, perfect for a cold plunge in all seasons.

Follow the hot tub path to a two-person wood-fired hot tub set on the edge of the stream. Build a fire in the submersible stove then soak under a canopy of old-growth hardwood trees and watch wildlife move through the forest. The sound of the stream and wind through the trees will carry you to another place.

Follow the blue and yellow paths to meditation centers carved into the forest: stone benches, vistas, hammocks and hidden Buddhas. This is a treasure hunt of our favorite places on the property, set on the side of Kaaterskill High Peak
